South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been in the spotlight this season amid the team's struggles. Shane Beamer's Gamecocks (3-6, 1-6 Southeastern Conference) are on a four-game losing streak, and Sellers has been linked with a move away from the program.

On Friday, analyst Todd McShay hinted that the Miami Hurricanes might look to land Sellers in the transfer portal for next season.

“LaNorris Sellers, there’s a strong opinion in NFL scouting circles … that he will be back in school next year,” McShay said on his YouTube show. “That he absolutely needs to, for his development and to be ready when he’s called upon as a first-round draft pick, and all first-round quarterbacks, whether they plan on it or not, start in Year 1.

"And if he is to start in Year 1, while he has the mobility and all those things to get himself out of trouble that less mobile quarterbacks couldn’t get themselves out of trouble, it’s still going to be a real uphill battle for him as a rookie, if he comes out in 2026. So, everyone is supporting the concept of he needs another year of college. And there’s people in his camp who are in agreement, is what I’m told.”

Miami won't have Carson Beck next season, since the QB is set to go pro. The Hurricanes will likely seek to bring in a top quarterback who can potentially fill the void left by Beck.

As things stand, Sellers appears to be a target for the ACC giants, which could be a worry for South Carolina coach Shane Beamer.

However, Sellers has not had a great run this season. He has recorded 1,536 passing yards, seven touchdowns, five interceptions and three rushing TDs.

LaNorris Sellers and the Gamecocks have an OFF in Week 11. South Carolina will return to action on Nov. 15, when it hosts the undefeated No. 3 Texas A&M (8-0, 5-0).

The Aggies are one of the best teams in the country and are favorites to beat South Carolina. However, Sellers could use the game to lay down a marker for himself.
