Julian Lewis got his first start as Colorado's quarterback against West Virginia in Week 11 on Saturday. CU coach Deion Sanders confirmed that Lewis will start the final three games of the regular season, ending his redshirt as a freshman.
Ahead of the game, Colorado confirmed that offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is ruled out for the contest. Another of CU's offensive linemen, Larry Johnson III, was also ruled out, along with running back Simeon Price and wideout Hykeem Williams.
Amid Colorado's injuries on offense, Lewis will have to work with what's at his disposal in his first start at the collegiate level.
Lewis has made appearances for Colorado this season, serving as one of the backups to Kaidon Salter. In his limited gametime, Lewis has recorded 129 passing yards and a touchdown heading into the clash against West Virginia.
Pat McAfee opens up on Julian Lewis' first start for Colorado

When ESPN analyst Pat McAfee found out that Julian Lewis was starting for Colorado (3-6) against West Virginia (3-6), he had an interesting take on the freshman QB.
"I'm a big fan of JuJu here," McAfee said on "College GameDay" earlier on Saturday. "He's a stud out of Georgia. I think he threw for like, I don't know, 2000 touchdowns or something like that in high school, outrageous. He obviously got the keys from Shedeur."
At the time of writing, Colorado is trailing 0-2 against West Virginia with just a few seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Lewis will want to turn things around for CU to make an impression on Coach Prime and the Buffs fans.
