Legendary coach Urban Meyer is extremely passionate about rivalries, especially when it comes to Ohio State and their long-standing hate towards the Michigan Wolverines. The Game still strikes a chord in Meyer's heart, who has been a dominant force for the Buckeyes during his tenure from 2012 to 2018 at Columbus.

Meyer was unbeaten against Michigan with a terrific 7-0 record. When he recalls those glorious moments and electric matchups, it is nothing but hate for the team up north.

The veteran coach was recently speaking on the Triple Option podcast, where he shared his experiences during his seven-year stint at Ohio State.

Meyer mentioned that their fanbase is extremely passionate and things often get out of control. He also gave a shoutout to former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh and added that he has no ill will against him.

“It’s in Ann Arbor and man, is that an awful place. When you come driving in that bus, it’s almost like I get post-traumatic stress disorder or what not. When you drive, the bus comes in and you turn the corner and see the block ‘M’ and your heart starts racing,” Meyer said to the panelists on Thursday.

“You see the people. I don’t think there’s another person alive that respects the rivalry like I do. When I say that out of respect, I can’t stand them,” he added.

Urban Meyer to ring the victory bell at Columbus this weekend

It will be an exciting matchup for Ohio State this week, where they play Penn State at home. The Buckeyes are unbeaten this season; however, Penn State is without their head coach, James Franklin, who was recently fired.

Before the matchup, Meyer will ring the 2,420 lb victory bell, which is situated in the southeastern end of the Ohio State stadium. This will officially mark the beginning of the Week 10 face-off.

Looking at the current pace, Ohio State is expected to win all the remaining matchups and make their position strong for the national championship. After Penn State, Purdue, UCLA, Rutgers and Michigan are other opponents for Ryan Day and team in the consecutive weekends.

The final game against the Wolverines will prove crucial since Day is 0-4 against their archrival, and they desperately need a big win this year.
