Colorado coach Deion Sanders handed Julian Lewis his first start for the team against West Virginia in Week 11 on Saturday. The freshman quarterback impressed, completing 22 of 35 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns, despite CU losing by a score of 29-22.

Fans on social media had some interesting reactions to Colorado's defeat, with many slamming Sanders for not giving Lewis more opportunities.

Deion Sanders' Colorado (3-7) will have an OFF in Week 12. The Buffs will return to action on Nov. 22 when they host Arizona State.

Since Colorado won't win six regular-season games this season, the team won't automatically be bowl-eligible. However, the Buffs will want to improve on their record before the end of the season.

Although Sanders has come under criticism, Colorado's athletic director Rick George, tweeted on Friday, supporting Coach Prime's process.
