Ed Orgeron has coached some famous names in his career. Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and Ja'Marr Chase are part of the new school, while Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp are among the older players Orgeron developed.Orgeron coached a young Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson during his days in Miami. The one-time national champion spoke about Johnson's Miami days in an appearance on Bussin with The Boys."He was the most well-mannered young man that we coached. Now he wasn’t as talented as (Warren) Sapp or those guys. But he’s a very tough football player. Great guy to coach, "said Orgeron.Dwayne Johnson was a defensive lineman for four seasons in Miami. He amassed a stat line of 77 tackles and 4.25 sacks in 39 games.According to ESPN, Ed Orgeron recruited him out of Pennsylvania. Orgeron had this to say about a young Johnson."He was a highly recruited kid. We were excited to have him; he came to us before his time. He was developed and was rather quick. He was a hard worker and a humble young man.""Everybody liked him. He was super coachable, and everybody was impressed with him. He came in and played many times as a freshman."Johnson would go on to have a brief stint as a professional football player before attaining fame in the WWE and on the big screen. He talks about his time in Miami from time to time.Orgeron would go on to enjoy a successful coaching career at the collegiate level. He had stints with Ole Miss and LSU, winning a national championship with the latter.Ed Orgeron is still eyeing a coaching returnEd Orgeron left LSU at the end of the 2021 college football season. He hasn't coached since and has instead made numerous TV appearances.However, Orgeron has recently expressed interest in returning to coaching. He threw his name into the coaching carousel at LSU before Lane Kiffin got the job.According to Sports Illustrated, Orgeron spoke with the Arkansas Razorbacks athletic director about a potential opening. He is also open to defensive line coaching and recruiting coordinator roles.
