Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia has sought President Donald Trump’s help to expand the College Football Playoff to accommodate 16 teams. Pavia made the appeal via a post on X, quoting journalist Brooks Austin’s post.
Austin wrote:
“Screw it, go to 16.4 SEC, 4 Big Ten, 2 ACC, 2 Big 12, 4 at-large bids decided by a computer ranking system. Get rid of these stupid committees filled with justifications nobody seems to understand.”
The post apparently resonated with Pavia, who then quoted it and wrote:
“@realDonaldTrump MAKE THE EXECUTIVE ORDER PLEASE!!”
Pavia’s appeal has generated several reactions from fans, especially in the comments section of his post. El Bee wrote:
“He’s gonna send ICE to your house instead!!”
Burghie also wrote:
“Maybe he should make an executive order eliminating Georgia and Texas. Gtfo, win, and you’ll be rewarded.”
LANK Kiffin commented:
“Bro begging to expand the playoffs and water down the meaning of making it lmaooo. Vandy would be a 1 and done in the playoffs anyway; this is embarrassing for you, my guy.”
Jim Ward also commented:
“Obviously, your education didn’t include limits on presidential power. He has zero say about NCAA football.”
Kelvin Levine added:
“Obviously, Vanderbilt needs to win all their games next year since apparently that’s the standard they need to meet for the committee.”
Angry RN wrote:
“You go to one of the top schools supposedly in the country and are supposedly taking classes, and you don’t understand how this is done? You obviously are not too bright! I hope you don’t win the Heisman also!”
How was Diego Pavia’s season?
Diego Pavia had what is undoubtedly the best season of his college career this fall, leading the Commodores to a 10-2 regular season finish. Setting the tempo for Vanderbilt’s offense, Pavia threw for 3,192 yards, 27 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 12 games.
The Commodores crowned their impressive season with an important victory over rivals, the Tennessee Volunteers, last Saturday. The Vols are just the latest in the list of big-name opponents floored by the Commodores, including South Carolina, LSU, Missouri, and Auburn.
Vanderbilt’s only losses came in road games at Alabama and Texas. Despite the team’s impressive run, however, its playoff berth remains doubtful, with teams like Texas getting louder shouts for a berth.
Playoff or not, the Commodores had a historic run, with Diego Pavia leading the charge.
