It was a dominating matchup for the Alabama Crimson Tide last weekend, where they defeated South Carolina 29-22 in a close encounter. Both the QBs Ty Simpson and LaNorris Sellers, battled effectively with their accuracy and rushing skills.
As the 2025 season inches closer to the end, experts and football pundits have started making predictions for the upcoming NFL draft.
On Thursday, Colin Cowherd and Joel Klatt engaged in fun banter, sharing their projections, with Cowherd claiming Ty Simpson lacked the juice to outsmart LaNorris Sellers and that the South Carolina QB would go off the boards before the Alabama star.
Klatt debated whether the records say otherwise. In his first year as a full-time starter, Simpson racked up 2,184 passing yards and threw 20 touchdowns while only conceding one interception.
On the other hand, Sellers completed 63.2 percent of his passes and racked up 1,356 passes while throwing for six touchdowns in eight games. This puts Simpson way above Sellers in the statistical leaderboard.
βSellers is a terrific player and heβll certainly be thought of highly in the NFL Draft. I think heβs going to be a top 10 pick. Iβm not saying that heβs bad. Iβm just saying, if you compare their games, the game Ty Simpson plays directly correlates to the National Football League,β Kaltt said to Cowherd on Thursday.

βHe will go in and he will have success. Heβs a Bo Nix or a Joe Burrow style of guy that can go in there and make those throws right away with anticipation and accuracyβ¦ Sellers is a wonderful player,β Klatt added
Ty Simpson gets 100% real about Heisman chatter around him
With just four weeks to wrap up the 2025 regular season, Heisman discussion has officially begun. With the trajectory that Alabama has been through and Simpson leading from the front, his name appears in the top 5 contenders list.
While speaking to Jim Rome on his show, Simpson mentioned that his focus is solely on leading Alabama to a great season and nothing else.
βJust trying to win, trying to be the best guy I can be and make sure that I can do everything for my teammates that gets us the win and gets us to what we dream about for a long time and what our ultimate goal is,β Simpson said.
This weekend, Alabama will face LSU at home. Odds are completely in Simpsonβs favor, with the Tigers entering the field without their coach Brian Kelly calling plays on the sidelines. Expect Alabama to wrap up 2025 with an 11-1 record.
