According to Chris Vannini, the Big 12 Commissioner said about the chants directed at BYU and LDS this season,

“There is zero tolerance. I want to make that crystal clear. We have a sportsmanship policy, and schools must abide by it. We are going to come together as 16 institutions following this season and figure out how we can get better.”

The BYU Cougars have been the subject of several anti-Latter-day Saint chants at Big 12 venues this year. One such incident occurred at the University of Colorado. The Big fined Colorado $50,000, and the school increased security following the act.

Another incident occurred in Cincinnati. However, the Salt Lake Tribune reports that there were no public repercussions. Yormark has acknowledged that the conference may need further rules to address the anti-LDS chants.

Notre Dame is independent, and most commissioners aren't a fan of that. So, it came as no surprise when Brett Yormark took a jab at the Fighting Irish during a FOX interview during the Arizona-Arizona State game in November.

According to Yahoo Sports, Brett Yormark said he believes the Big 12 Conference deserves numerous bids in the 12-team Playoff and suggested BYU’s resume stacks up better than Notre Dame’s.

He said,

"I think BYU has been underappreciated all season long. When you compare them to a Notre Dame, there is no comparison when you think about the strength of record, the strength of schedule and win-loss."

BYU went on to end the regular season with an 11-1 record, while Notre Dame finished 10-2. The former is ranked No. 11 on the AP Poll while the latter is No. 10. It remains to be seen which team makes the playoffs and which misses out.
