Contrary to the expectations of many, Jeremiah Smith is not the 2025 Biletnikoff Award winner. The Ohio State star sophomore, who had just finished in the top 10 in the Heisman Trophy voting, lost the award for the best wide receiver in college football to USC’s Makai Lemon.Lemon topped the Big Ten with 1,156 receiving yards, matching Smith in touchdown catches and finishing the regular season 70 yards ahead, while averaging a yard more per reception. The Trojans' wideout also beat out competition from UConn's Skyler Bell for the award. It could be said that injuries also hampered Jeremiah Smith’s bid for the award. He sat out the Rutgers matchup and missed half of the UCLA game, while Lemon played every contest. Nonetheless, he made his 12th appearance of the season in the 13-10 Big Ten title game loss to Indiana.Smith had a reaction to the Biletnikoff Award snub on social media on Saturday. The wide receiver posted the iconic car scene from the 2002 crime drama “Paid in Full,” showcasing the pain of losing the award and the will to come back stronger next season.Jeremiah Smith's post on X immediately generated a lot of reactions from college football fans. The Buckeyes' star was named the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year, but was beaten out by a player from the same conference on the national level. Here’s a look at some of the reactions online:U.P.
