Popular esports organization Orangutan has been disqualified from the Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC) 2025 (BGMI). This Indian team participated in the first three days of the Semifinals Stage. The squad had already qualified for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025, which is scheduled to begin on November 24.The PMGC 2025 will be played under the new zone meta, while the CEGC 2025 is being conducted using the old zone meta. Orangutan chose not to change its playstyle ahead of the PMGC and opted out of participating in the offline CEGC Grand Finals. However, with Team IQOO ORANGUTAN revealing that they will not be participating in the LAN component of the Chennai Esports Global Championship, we had to make some difficult decisions to maintain competitive integrity and fairness."A fair tournament can only be ensured when all teams give their 100 percent with equal stakes involved. Accordingly, Team Orangutan has been officially disqualified from the tournament effective immediately. We wish them the very best for their PMGC preparations and future competitions."Shortly after, Orangutan's Aaru Gaming posted in his Instagram broadcast:"Probably won’t be playing Skyesports LAN, starting practice on PMGC Devices & Earphones. Also, we don’t want to compromise our playstyle mindset switching lobbies. So yeah. Will still play qualifier stages for practice."Orangutan finished 14th in the overall standings after Day 3 of the CEGC 2025 Semifinals BGMI.
