India’s Orangutan ranks fourth as Day 1 of PMGC 2025 Gauntlet ends

The Gauntlet Stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 kicked off on November 24. Orangutan from India secured fourth place after Day 1 of the event. The Aaru-led squad posted 43 points (including 23 eliminations) on the board despite not winning a single one of its six matches. The players will aim to do better in the remaining 12 games of the stage.

ThunderTalk Gaming from China emerged as the top performer on the opening day and secured first rank with 77 points (including two Chicken Dinners and 47 finishes in six encounters). Madbulls grabbed second position with 66 points with the help of one Chicken Dinner and 44 eliminations. R8 Esports achieved third spot with 57 points and one Chicken Dinner.

The Gauntlet Stage is the initial round of the PMGC 2025, in which a total of 16 teams are clashing against each other. The top seven teams from this stage will qualify the Grand Finals, and the remaining nine will play in the Group Stage.

Orangutan made an impressive start to its campaign and earned nine points in the opening match, including five eliminations. The Indian club grabbed seven points in its second game thanks to Aaru’s survival gameplay.

Orangutan also played well in the third encounter and scored eight points with the help of three eliminations. However, the team faltered in the fourth match, scoring only one point. The squad then bounced back in the fifth game and added 14 points to its tally. Attanki, AKOP and Wizzgod from the team took three, three and two kills, respectively.

Orangutan eventually went on to earn four points in the sixth and final match of the day and claimed fourth place in the overall standings after all six games. As such, the Indian team has made a decent start to the PMGC 2025. It will now look to secure a seat in the Grand Finals by maintaining a consistent performance in the remaining 12 games.
