The NBA is in trouble right now.
Victor Wembanyama is inching closer to his final form, and unless he gets hurt, he's not going to let anybody else eat.
That's why Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green had to tip his hat to him. In the latest edition of his podcast, Green, who was initially skeptical of Wemby's ability to dominate in the NBA, gushed about what he's done so far.
He was impressed by the way he dominated Anthony Davis in the season opener, stating that it seemed like he was just trying to make a statement:

"What Victor Wembanyama is doing is insane," Green admitted (Timestamp: 12:10). "It looked like he was trying to go after AD as if he had something against him (...) he was on one."
Wembanyama dominated Davis, one of the greatest rim protectors of the past couple of decades, like an average defensive player.
He put up 40 points on 71% from the floor, adding 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal, three blocks, and one three-pointer to lead his team to a 125-92 blowout win and spoil Cooper Flagg's NBA debut.
Hakeem Olajuwon raves about Victor Wembanyama
All things considered, this level of dominance shouldn't be a surprise. Wembanyama worked tirelessly on his game this offseason, teaming up with Kevin Garnett and Hakeem Olajuwon to add more to his repertoire.
When asked about that experience, Olajuwon admitted that he thought Wembanyama was joking about working out with him because he already had the whole package:
“I thought he was kidding," Olajuwon admitted, per NBA analysis. “It was great working out with him because we worked on his outside game, the inside, and also how to leverage his height when those smaller guys are pushing him out of the box."
Olajuwon believes he has all the tools to be not only the face of modern basketball, but also the best player in the game, mostly because he's also so eager to get better:
“He’s the ideal icon for that (modern) style of basketball. He handles the ball so well. He can shoot the ball so well. He has the agility, the movement. The most important thing – he’s willing to learn," Olajuwon added. “I don’t see any ceiling. He can do whatever he wants on the floor.”
The San Antonio Spurs star should be the leading MVP and Defensive Player of the Year candidate of the early season. He's averaging 31.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals, a league-leading 4.8 blocks, and one three-pointer per game on 60/36/80 shooting splits, and the Spurs are undefeated after three games.
