The San Antonio Spurs already had the last two NBA Rookie of the Year winners on their roster, and with Dylan Harper, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if they made it three in a row.

However, as impressive as the Rutgers product has been for them, he hasn't necessarily been the tidiest.

At least, that's how Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle feel.

In a now-viral interview for the Spurs' social media pages, both Wembanyama and Castle agreed that Harper had the messiest locker room. Harper, however, targeted fellow rookie Carter Bryant instead:

"It's gotta be Dylan," Wembanyama said. "He's only been here for a few months, but it's full of boxes and stuff."
"One of the youngins," Castle said. "We'll say Dylan, then."
"Messiest locker? Carter," Harper said.

The veterans will most likely continue to put Harper on notice and force him to get his act together.

Then again, that won't matter much as long as he continues to ball and impress in the way he's done so far.

Dylan Harper is ahead of schedule for the Spurs

Harper has only been there for four games, but his impact off the bench is already notorious.

He's averaging 14.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and one steal per game on 26.0 minutes a night and nearly 48 percent shooting. In an interview with Matt Guzman of Sports Illustrated, he credited his teammates and the coaching staff for helping him mold his game:

"We've done a good job just watching film," Harper said. "They're sitting me down, telling me what I need to correct ... it's just basketball at this point."

Harper has all the God-given traits to be one of the best players in the game. But besides his ability to attack downhill, his recognition of defenses and understanding of the game have been even more impressive:

"I'm just taking what the defense gives (me)," Harper said. "Having that IQ, knowing not to rush anything, letting the game come to me."

As the son of a former NBA champion, Harper has been immersed in the game of basketball for his entire life, and it's evident that he reads the game better than the average rookie.

The Spurs are a perfect 4-0 and have looked like a strong contender even with De'Aaron Fox.

And with Harper playing this way, it might be tough to keep him off the court even when Fox returns.
