After the Dallas Mavericks fired Nico Harrison on Tuesday morning, Cooper Flagg's mother, Kelly Flagg, went viral for her retweet regarding the then-general manager. The proud mom has since explained why she retweeted the post before Harrison's exit.In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Kelly addressed her retweeting of a Mavs fan's post regarding Harrison being a distraction to Cooper's development. The fan was not happy that "Fire Nico" chants were hindering the team's prized rookie from focusing on his game."Retweet wasn’t about firing Nico. It was about the fact that the fans were chanting during our free throws. Our guys had nothing to do with what went down. It’s done now so we all need to move on. Hopefully, better days ahead," Kelly tweeted.Regardless of what Cooper Flagg's mother tweeted, the Dallas Mavericks are finally moving on from the Luka Doncic trade. Nico Harrison is no longer in charge, with Michael Finley and Matt Ricardi being named as interim co-general managers by team governor Patrick Dumont. The Mavs can finally focus on rebuilding around Flagg rather than hoping Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving can lead them to a championship. While the roster had a lot of potential, Davis got injured five games into the season, and Irving's return this season is uncertain.Flagg has had an up-and-down rookie campaign, but most of his struggles came from being played out of position by Dallas coach Jason Kidd. Now back at his natural position of small forward, he had his best game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He had 26 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.Cooper Flagg suffers thumb injury in loss to MilwaukeeCooper Flagg suffers thumb injury in loss to Milwaukee. Flagg told reporters that he's dealing with a thumb injury, but he played through it."It's doing OK," Flagg said, according to Noah Weber of The Smoking Cuban. "It happened one of the plays the last game when I was attacking the rim trying to dunk. … A little sprain, thumb sprain. Nothing too crazy. I was able to play through it tonight. … It was obviously a little painful, but like I said, nothing crazy."Despite the injury, Flagg has been cleared to play in Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns.
