Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban celebrated his spot on the Top 125 most influential sports business leaders of the past 25 years. Cuban also flexed being in the Top 25 of the 100 most influential people in healthcare. Business is booming for the entrepreneur, who has a reported net worth of $6 billion. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Cuban retweeted Modern Healthcare's Top 100 list of the most influential people in their industry. The one-time NBA champion owner added a screenshot of his photo from the Sports Business Journal's 125 most influential business people in sports of the last 25 years. "Fun day. Got named Top 25 in Healthcare and Top 125 in Sports over the last 25 years!" Cuban tweeted. Mark Cuban is no longer the majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, having sold a significant portion of his stake to the Alderson Family two years ago. Cuban remains a huge part of the franchise, especially after team governor Patrick Dumont fired general manager Nico Harrison. Mark Cuban's statement on his influence in sportsAfter making a lot of money in the late 1990s, Mark Cuban ventured into sports by buying the Dallas Mavericks in January 2000. Cuban turned into one of the most influential owners the NBA has ever seen. He transformed a lot inside the Mavericks, which was copied by many owners around the league. "Nothing more fun than challenging the status quo and changing how things have always been done," Cuban said in a statement, according to the Dallas Morning News. "I was proud to do it on behalf of Mavs fans everywhere. And I thank each and every one of them for sticking with us through the good times and all the mistakes I made. #MFFL!"As an owner, Cuban won one NBA championship in 2011, led by franchise legend Dirk Nowitzki. However, his status with the fanbase took a hit after Luka Doncic was traded to the LA Lakers back in February. Mark Cuban's healthcare businessOne of the reasons Mark Cuban was included on the Top 100 list of the most influential people in healthcare is because of Cost Plus Drugs. Cuban founded the company in 2022 along with Alex Oshmyansky. The aim of Cost Plus Drugs was to lower the prices for generic drugs. Cuban considered his company a disruptor of the often-criticized US healthcare system, which inflates prices for regular citizens.
