“Witnessed organized fraud”; “Terrible base-running by the Blue Jays” - Fans react as Alex Rodriguez slams team for Game 6 baserunning collapse

The rollercoaster of a World Series clash between the LA Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays took it's latest twist on Friday, as the Dodgers stayed alive in the series after winning 3-1 in Game 6.

The big win did not come without some customary MLB playoff drama, however. Down by two runs, the Blue Jays rallied in the bottom of ninth inning, getting runners to second and third with two outs to work with.

Unfortunately for the hosts, they were unable to capitalize, as Kike Hernandez in the outfield combined perfectly with Miguel Rojas at second base to turn a spectacular double play, ending the game.

Though it was superb defensive work on the Dodgers' part, New York Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez, while speaking about the big moment post-game, claimed the Blue Jays should have given the visitors a "zero percent chance" to turn two in that situation, especially when George Springer was due up.

"I don't care how good those plays were, they should have never happened. Because when you are at 2nd base, there is no way, zero percent, that you can get doubled up there." Rodriguez said

Reacting to Rodriguez's take, fans were also quick to chime in on X.

"Calling George Springer one of the greatest postseason hitters while ignoring 2017 is like calling a guy the best poker player in the world while forgetting he had a mirror behind the dealer. You didn’t witness greatness, you witnessed organized fraud with batting gloves on." a fan wrote

"Usually agree with @AROD, but in this case, he's the tying run. You want to score on a hit there if possible. It wasn't that clear cut that he should move back to second because then he wasn't going to score. The mistake was the bad read, not that he was too far off 2nd base." another fan posted

The see-saw World Series clash between the Toronto Blue Jays and LA Dodgers will come to a grand conclusion on Saturday, as both heavyweights battle it out in the decisive Game 7.
