Though several Toronto Blue Jays stars put in fantastic performances during their team's run to the World Series, rookie starting pitcher Trey Yesavage was arguably the star of the show.

Having made his big league debut only fifteen days before the regular season ended, Yesavage found himself thrown into the deep end as his team called upon him to pitch in the postseason. Instead of struggling, however, Yesavage seemed to be right at home in the high-pressure situation he found himself in.

In the Fall Classic against the LA Dodgers, Yesavage started two games, both of which his team went on to win. In the decisive Game 7 on Saturday, the 22-year-old was called upon to pitch out of the bullpen late in the game.

Soon after, Trey's girlfriend, Taylor Frick, shared the same video to her story, commending her boyfriend's superb performances over the past month.

Despite a hearbreaking end to the World Series, the future is bright for Trey Yesavage and the Blue Jays

For most of Game 7, it looked like the Toronto Blue Jays were destined to taste World Series glory for the first time since 1993. However, the Dodgers' misfiring offense woke up right at the last, tying the game in the ninth inning to force extras, before winning it in the eleventh.

As a result, a championship that the Blue Jays were only two outs away from eventually evaded their grasp, and it was the Dodgers that were celebrating their second consecutive World Series win at the end of play on Saturday.
