Although the Toronto Blue Jays fell short in their pursuit of their first World Series title since 1993, rookie ace Trey Yesavage emerged as a future star.
Yesavage made history during Game 5 of the World Series by striking out 12 batters to give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Despite his heroics, Toronto lost in extra innings in a decisive Game 7.
With his historic rookie year in the books, the Blue Jays pitcher has entered a new phase in his personal life. Yesavage's girlfriend, Taylor Frick, shared an Instagram story featuring the ace.
"Cheers to this new chapter roomies!!!" Frick captioned her post.

Following the Blue Jays' World Series Game 7 loss, Frick penned a heartfelt note for the rookie pitching sensation.
"To me, you won from the second you stepped on that Toronto field," Frick wrote. "You won with a team that believed in you, the records you have broken, & the support that is more than we could have ever imagined. You won my love, you won from the beginning."
Trey Yesavage acknowledged girlfriend Taylor's heartfelt post after World Series defeat
After Trey Yesavage's girlfriend, Taylor Frick, consoled the Blue Jays ace over the heartbreaking extra-innings loss in Game 7 on Saturday, the rookie pitcher commented on the post.
"Words can’t describe how much I love you," Yesavage commented. "You have been right by my side every second of this journey Taylor. You continue to impress me every single day with the human being you are. None of my success would happen without you there by my side. I love you beyond the moon and stars honey."
Although the Blue Jays fell short in their World Series pursuit to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Yesavage thanked Toronto fans for their support throughout the season.
