Ahead of the Winter Meetings, USA Today's Bob Nightengale shared his notes regarding the potential moves the AL East franchise could make in the coming weeks.

According to Nightengale, former Toronto Blue Jays slugger Bo Bichette could sign for Boston if the World Series runner-ups sign free agent outfielder Kyle Tucker.

Bichette has been linked with a move to Boston after becoming a free agent at the end of last season. The former Jays infielder has been identified as a top target for Boston if they miss out on re-signing Alex Bregman.

The MLB insider also noted that the Red Sox are a serious contender for All-Star slugger Kyle Schwarber, who is coming off his most prolific hitting season with the Philadelphia Phillies. Schwarber has been strongly linked with a return to Philadelphia this offseason.

The Red Sox are looking to strengthen the infield this offseason and are reportedly looking at Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte. Although Marte signed a six-year extension with the Diamondbacks this year, several teams have been linked with a trade for the three-time All-Star.

Apart from making additions to the roster, Nightengale reported two players the Red Sox could ship this offseason. He named outfielders Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu as the two outgoing players.

Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran could move to Los Angeles Dodgers

Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran's name has been in trade rumors since the trade deadline in July. According to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the potential destinations for the All-Star outfielder.

The Kansas City Royals and the Miami Marlins are the two other options for Duran, per Abraham.

"The Royals, who have pitching and need offense, are an obvious match," Abraham wrote. "The same is true of the Marlins. Duran is under contract for $7.7 million and is under team control through 2028. The Dodgers are a possible trade partner, too."

The Red Sox have been looking to ship Duran after his down year in 2025 and the rise of Roman Anthony since his MLB debut.
