On Saturday, Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in Game 7 to become the first team in 25 years to win back-to-back World Series. After the game ended, Ohtani posted on Instagram, sharing photos of himself celebrating the World Series win with his teammates. The caption of the post read:
"2025 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS👑👑"
Shohei Ohtani's post received comments from fans and well-known personalities, including NFL legend Tom Brady. In the comments section of Ohtani's post, Brady reacted to the Japanese star winning his second consecutive World Series. Brady reacted with the following emojis:
"💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼"

Brady knows a thing or two about winning championships. He won seven Super Bowl rings during his illustrious career, including back-to-back titles with the New England Patriots in 2003-04. This success is a big reason why he is widely considered the greatest football player of all time.
In the 2025 postseason, Ohtani proved to be an integral part of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He hit .265 with 13 runs scored to go with eight home runs and 14 RBIs. He also threw 20.1 innings in four appearances as a pitcher, giving up 10 runs on 16 hits with 28 strikeouts.
Shohei Ohtani labels fellow Los Angeles Dodgers player as the No. 1 pitcher in the world
While Shohei Ohtani and many other players were critical to the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2025 World Series win, it must be noted that in Game 7, Yoshinobu Yamamoto played a crucial role in the Dodgers' victory.
After pitching just a day earlier in Game 6, the young Japanese pitcher came on to pitch 2.2 relief innings, which led to their victory in 11 innings. While many spoke about Yamamoto's impeccable performance against the Blue Jays in Game 7, one can argue that Yamamoto's best compliment of the night came from his fellow Dodger, Shohei Ohtani.
After the game, Ohtani labeled Yamamoto as the No. 1 pitcher in the world. He said, on MLB on Fox:
“I have no idea how he pulled it off. I really believe he is the No. 1 pitcher in the whole world."
Apart from Ohtani, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts also praised Yoshinobu Yamamoto. After the game, Roberts mentioned that apart from his fabulous pitching, Yamamoto also showed "unwavering will." Roberts added he had never seen something like that before.
Yamamoto, who gave up just two earned runs over 17.2 innings in three appearances, was named the World Series MVP.
