On Thursday, Cashman once again participated in the "Sleep Out" event as he was captured while going inside a sleeping bag. While it was happening, Cashman also said the following in a joking sense:

“You know this is a meme. About Brian Cashman is asleep on the job. He’s not doing his job. I’ve seen that all over social media.”

Fans reacted to this latest video of Cashman with hilarious remarks.

"Bro can’t even say meme how the fuck is he gonna build a championship team," one fan wrote.
"Tbh, the fact that Brian Cashman never learned how to pronounce “meme” tells me he has been totally plugged into his job for the past 30 years," another added.

"This will age so poorly when he does nothing this offseason," one fan reacted.
"At least he acknowledges he’s asleep on the job!" one fan joked.
"Hey Brian, the team needs to get better. Get the MEM-o" one fan reacted.
"Pretty comforting that he knows he’s a joke and doesn’t give a f*ck because Hal will never fire him," one fan wrote.

Brian Cashman reflected on harsh reality of youth homelessness

In November 2019, Brian Cashman went inside a sleeping bag for a charity event to raise awareness on what youth homelessness really means. The Covenant House's Sleep Out: Executive Edition has raised money for millions of homeless young people in the nation with this event over the last decade.

At the event, Cashman reflected on how temporary his discomfort was compared to the reality many homeless youth face.

“I’ve had nights where it’s been cold, rainy,” Cashman said. “In no way, shape or form does it even come close to 365 days a year of what people are having to deal with. It’s one six-hour, eight-hour period or segment, and if you get no sleep -- which typically is the case -- you just wonder how people can survive with no knowledge of where your next meal is coming from.”

Meanwhile, Cashman will be busy this offseason so as to prepare a Yankees team that can finally win it all as the club searches for its World Series since 2009.
