"Sounds like LeBron James when he joined the Heat, pathetic" - Fans ridicule Tyler Glasnow over his comments during World Series victory celebration

On Saturday, Tyler Glasnow and the LA Dodgers won the World Series for the second consecutive year, after getting the better of the Toronto Blue Jays in dramatic fashion in Game 7.

Before making his way to LA in December 2023, Glasnow spent six seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays. In 2020, the Rays made it all the way to the Fall Classic, but they were ultimately beaten by the Dodgers.

Speaking to press while celebrating in the locker room after Saturday's big win alongside Blake Snell, another pitcher who was part of the Rays' pennant-winning squad, Glasnow joked about how the decision to join the team that beat him five years ago has brought him plenty of success.

"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em baby!" Tyler Glasnow said

SportsCenter later posted Glasnow's comments on X.

Glasnow's comments did not sit well with some fans, and plenty called out the All-Star on X.

"Sounds like LeBron when he joined the Heat. Pathetic," a fan wrote.

@thats_bb_suzyn @SportsCenter They just admitted they weren't good enough. They had to join a super team to win. Same with Ohtani. He had supposedly the best player in the game in Trout and still couldn't even make the playoffs. They all needed a super team to win. Lol

Despite going down three runs early in the game, the LA Dodgers showed a lot of grit to claw themselves back to level terms and eventually win Game 7 of the World Series.

Soon after the big win, starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow reflected on the thrilling contest between two superb teams.

"That was incredible, that was one of the craziest series I think there's ever been. They (Toronto Blue Jays) played an amazing series, they've got a lot of good players," Tyler Glasnow said.

Glasnow also played an important role in his team's Game 7 win, as he pitched 2.1 innings out of the bullpen.
