Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Roki Sasaki is rumored to be dating American actress Sydney Sweeney, but fans are smart enough not to fall for it. Sasaki is fresh off helping the Dodgers win the World Series in 2025, as the club beat the Toronto Blue Jays to lift the title for the second straight year.

A social media user added fuel to the rumor by claiming that Sasaki and Sweeney have been "quietly going out," according to sources.

Nevertheless, the claim appears to be self. Since Sweeney's rise after the success of "Euphoria", her personal life has always been in the rumor mills, sometimes with prominent athletes.

More recently, Sweeney's name was linked to Charles Oliveira, the former UFC lightweight champion. Oliveira debunked the claim, pointing out that he is a married man.

Presently, Sydney Sweeney is in a relationship with businessman and record executive Scooter Braun. Sweeney's only other confirmed relationship was with Jonathan Davino. They started dating in 2018, got engaged in 2022, and then called it quits in 2025.

Is Roki Sasaki married?

Yes, Roki Sasaki is married indeed.

Earlier this year, the Dodgers right-hander posted a message on Instagram, informing his fans that he is married. He wrote:

"The other day, I registered my marriage with an ordinary woman. I’m full of expectations and anxiety as it’s a new start for both my work and private life. We will work hard as a couple, so please keep a warm eye on us."

However, Sasaki has not revealed any details about his wife.

Sasaki is from Rikuzentakata (Iwate Prefecture, Japan). At the age of nine, he lost his father and grandparents in the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Sasaki and the rest of his family relocated after the disaster, moving to nearby Ofunato, where he continued with his schooling and playing baseball. His early life tragedy appears to have become a motivational force as he aims to do his best.

"I want to become a No. 1 pitcher … I want to be the player whose name fans say when they are asked who is No. 1," Sasaki said via MLB.com.

It remains to be seen whether Sasaki debuts his wife in any public appearance, like in the All-Star game.
