The defending World Series champions took the lead through Teoscar Hernandez's solo home run in the second inning. Three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani followed with another home run off Max Scherzer in the third inning.

Bieber, a Toronto superfan, reacted to the Japanese two-way star's home run with a thumbs-down gesture.

After Shohei Ohtani's game-tying home run in the seventh, neither team managed to get on the score sheet despite coming close to breaking the 5-5 deadlock multiple times.

However, last year's World Series MVP, Freddie Freeman, lived up to his reputation of being a clutch postseason hitter by hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning.

Freeman, who hit a walk-off home run off then-New York Yankees ace Nestor Cortes Jr. in Game 1 of the 2024 World Series, became the first player in MLB history with multiple walk-off homers in the Fall Classic.
