MLB legend Alex Rodriguez has shown a very vulnerable side of himself in the HBO docuseries Alex vs ARod, which concluded with the airing of the third part last Thursday. The docuseries discussed the many ups and downs in the three-time MVP's life, including his divorce with his ex-wife Cynthia, his issues with Performance Enhancing Drugs, and the subsequent bans and the unravelling of the person behind the baseball player. In a promotional video for the third episode, branded as the "Story behind the Story", Alex Rodriguez opens up about these issues while acknowledging going to therapy as a result of his lifestyle. He stated his reluctance at wanting to talk about his life in previous years, but finally came to terms with it."One of my favorite lines is from Mike Francesa where he says, "ARod's a Shakespearean figure," ARod said. "And he was a great player, but he was also very flawed." After the suspension, I really had an opportunity to dig in with Doctor David and work on some of those things, which I'm still working on today. "But this flawed person... baseball was in many ways my savior. But it took for me to fall from the top of the mountain as low as you can go to put myself back together."
