The New York Mets have been in the news for the wrong reasons after reports emerged earlier this week that superstar slugger Juan Soto was following his teammate Francisco Lindor on social media.MLB insider Mike Rodriguez shared an image on Thursday claiming that Soto isn't following Mets teammate Lindor on Instagram. The post went viral on social media, garnering more than 200k views on X."Juan Soto does not follow Francisco Lindor Instagram account 👀 #Mets," Rodriguez wrote on X.However, Rodriguez also faced backlash for the post as MLB broadcaster Jake Brown, who previously co-hosted the New York Post "Amazin' But True" podcast, called out the insider on X.Brown alleged that Rodriguez was making a news story out of nothing, writing:"Alonso follows none of them. We wanna make that a story too?"Alonso, who opted out of his Mets contract after last season, is rumored to be on New York's shopping list this offseason. However, the All-Star infielder is expected to command a lucrative contract offer, securing his long-term MLB future this offseason.
