Paul Skenes' highly successful season in 2025, where he won the National League Cy Young award, got even better as he was named in the same list as some of the greatest players of all time.
After music platform Spotify released its year-end Wrapped for its users around the globe, MLB took some creative leverage to reveal its own 2025 season wrap featuring the top superstars, teams, and their engagement with the baseball community.
The MLB's Instagram account released the 2025 season wrap on Wednesday, with its cover list featuring the most mentioned names in the sport this past year. It included reigning MVPs of both leagues, Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani and New York Yankees' Aaron Judge, record-breaking catcher and switch-hitter Seattle Mariners' Cal Raleigh, World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and coming in fifth place was Paul Skenes.
His girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, took to her Instagram account to give his selection a big shoutout. Dunne, the former Louisiana State University gymnast, used one of Skenes' stickers on Instagram to "point" towards his name on the list.

It has been an incredible rise for Skenes, who has had one of the best two seasons for a starter in the MLB since making his debut. Last season, he went 11-3 with a 1.96 ERA in 133.0 innings pitched, giving him the National League Rookie of the Year award.
Skenes backed it up with a 10-10, 1.97 ERA from a 187.2 innings campaign, easily taking home the top pitcher's award. His win also cemented a huge payday for the 23-year-old, as he received a whopping $3,436,343 from the pre-arbitration bonus pool, a record.
