Miguel Rojas had a big hand in making the Los Angeles Dodgers back-to-back World Series champions. With the game on the line in the ninth inning, Rojas hit a home run to tie World Series Game 7 and force extra innings, where Will Smith's solo shot was enough to see the Dodgers lift their ninth World Series title.

Rojas already said that the 2026 season will be his last in the MLB, and he would like to ride off into the sunset with the Dodgers. That dream of his met with reality on Wednesday, as the franchise agreed to a one-year, $5.5 million deal with the Dodgers.

After learning this news, fans shared their positive reactions as several of them called him a hero.

"THE LEAGUE IS SHAKING," one fan wrote.
"Isn't a bad move, looking at how free agencies are right now and Miggy was one of the unsung heroes. A one-year deal, honestly, you know he wants to be part of an org that WINS, and plus if they somehow get someone or somebody the team is already built for 2026," another fan reacted.

"This is how a classy organization treats its veteran players. The Dodgers signed World Series hero Miguel Rojas to a one year deal and will keep him around after his retirement to work with younger players. Then there's the Clippers who did CP3 dirty," another hailed the Dodgers while criticizing the Clippers.
"Bro fumbled on literally riding into the sunset with your last AB being the biggest hit youll ever have," one fan added.

"World Series Hero staying in LA!" one fan posted.
"Dodgers Legend Miggy Ro!!! Yes! Then retire and get a job within the organization," one fan commented.

Why the Miguel Rojas deal matters for Dodgers?

Miguel Rojas started his MLB career with the Dodgers, then went to the Miami Marlins from 2015 to 2022 before returning to Chavez Ravine in 2023.

Over the last three years, he has become a key veteran figure in the locker room and though he is not the team's everyday player, he has maximized whenever the team needed him to deliver.

Taking the emotional context out of the deal, Rojas' ability to play multiple infield positions offers flexibility to the Dodgers when dealing with injuries or lineup shifts.

Thus, the deal is a win-win situation for both the Dodgers and Rojas.
