The Dodgers are wasting no time in future-proofing their lineup after winning back-to-back World Series titles. Per several Korean news sources, the reigning champions are in the mix to acquire Kiwoom Heroes third base star Song Sung-mun as a cheaper alternative to NPB superstar slugger Munetaka Murakami.Song was posted by his parent club Kiwoom on Nov. 20 after being with the team since 2015. During his stay with the Heroes, the third baseman was a noteworthy teammate of both Giants outfielder Junghoo Lee and Dodgers utility man Hyeseong Kim.The hot-corner specialist's estimated contract is projected to be in the range of $12.5 million, far below Murakami's $90 million. In 2024, Song was named captain of the Heroes and posted a .315 batting average with 26 home runs and 90 RBIs. Unfortunately, Kiwoom finished last in the KBO standings with a 47-93 record.Although stacked in skill positions, the Dodgers hold the distinction of having the oldest average Opening Day roster in 2025 at 31.48 years. With Max Muncy reaching 35 and Miguel Rojas 36, an injection of youth such as Song could solidify third base. With names like Murakami and Yomiuri Giants star Kazuma Okamoto also mentioned as third-base options, it will be interesting to see who the Dodgers pursue ahead of the 2026 campaign.Dodgers star Tommy Edman provides update after surgeryDodgers star Tommy Edman recently provided an update after undergoing ankle surgery. Edman appeared on "The Sedano and Kap Morning Show" on Tuesday to share details about his procedure and overall health."“It’s doing all right. I recently got the surgery, so hoping that fixes it for good. It’s something I needed to do after dealing with it the past two seasons. They said everything went smooth. Hopefully it’s a good recovery and I get back to 100%," Edman said. (2:30:50-2:30:59)Tommy Edman first had an ankle issue in April, which kept him out until mid-May. Not one to be left behind, he soldiered through the issue before reaggravating it in August. After spending a couple of weeks on the injury list, he returned in September and was present throughout the postseason run.Although proficient in both infield and outfield roles, he largely remained a middle infielder in 2025 to avoid the heavy workload demanded on the warning tracks.
