The MLB rumor mill is starting to intensify with teams being linked with star free agents in the offseason. Two of the big free agents linked with high-profile moves in free agency are Bo Bichette and J.T. Realmuto.
Reigning World Series winners, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are reportedly interested in signing Bo Bichette, who had a strong season for the Blue Jays in their route to the World Series.
Bichette batted .311 through 139 games, hitting 18 home runs and tallying 94 RBIs in 2025, and ESPN's David Schoenfield believes the Dodgers could add the All-Star second baseman to strengthen their infield.
According to Dodgers Nation, Bichette could be the team's designated second baseman with Tommy Edman moving to the outfield. The 2024 NLCS MVP had served as the team's second and third baseman, along with spending time in the outfield in 2025.
While the Dodgers are linked with Bichette, the Boston Red Sox are reportedly pursuing veteran catcher J.T. Realmuto, as per The Athletic. He slashed .257/.315/.384 last season for the Philadelphia Phillies with a .700 OPS, adding 12 homers and 52 RBIs.
While it wasn't the three-time All-Star's best season at the plate, he is expected to replace Connor Wong with Realmuto as Carlos Narvaez's backup behind the plate for Boston.
Red Sox reportedly eyeing J.T. Realmuto amid offseason pursuit of All-Star hitters in free agency
J.T. Realmuto is one of the few names linked with the Red Sox this offseason as the AL East franchise have been reportedly pursuing All-Star caliber bats in free agency.
The Red Sox are keen on reuniting with star infielder Alex Bregman and could also add more power by bringing in either Pete Alonso or Kyle Schwarber. Amid their pursuit of the trio, the Red Sox announced the signing of veteran starter Sonny Gray from the St. Louis Cardinals this week.
Gray is expected to fill the gap in Boston's rotation led by AL Cy Young finalist Garrett Crochet. It will be interesting to see if the Red Sox make a pitching addition to their rotation with several high-profile pitchers available in free agency.
