Jeff Hoffman's wife Marissa, David Ortiz react to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. receiving hero's welcome in Don Gregorio after World Series heartbreak

The closest Guerrero Sr. came to winning the World Series was in 2010, but his Texas Rangers lost to the San Francisco Giants. Now, his son has suffered the same fate as the Blue Jays lost the 2025 Fall Classic to the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. received a hero's welcome in his hometown of Don Gregorio, Nizao. The Blue Jays slugger participated in a parade in his hometown, meeting several people. On Saturday, he shared snippets from the parade on his Instagram.

Among the many who commented on the post were David Ortiz and Jeff Hoffman's wife Marissa. The Blue Jays' social media handle also commented on the post.

Jeff Hoffman joined the Blue Jays in January, signing a three-year, $33 million deal as a free agent. Guerrero was the star of the game, having hit the only homer. For the impressive performance, Ortiz gifted him a cigar and his iconic 'my dawg' tee.

Ortiz and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have a close relationship; the latter's father has played with the former. Last month, the duo's hilarious conversation after the Blue Jays sent the New York Yankees crashing out of the American League Division Series went viral on social media.

Ortiz mocks the Yankees whenever he gets an opportunity, primarily due to his loyalty to the Red Sox. Guerrero joined Ortiz to poke fun at the Yankees after his ALDS triumph.
