Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage got a shoutout from his teammate Jeff Hoffman.
In a photo posted on MLB agent Andrew Nacario's Instagram account, Yesavage and Hoffman could be seen posing for the cameras with Nacario. Yesavage wore an "American League Champions" T-shirt, while Hoffman wore protective goggles over his head, indicating that the picture was taken in the aftermath of Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
Sharing it on his Instagram story, Hoffman used a simple, one-word caption to describe the picture.
"Forever," he wrote, along with a pirate flag emoji while tagging Yesavage.

While there can be various interpretations of his cryptic caption, Hoffman might have been referring to the pair's shared professional bond with Nacario. The Creative Arts Agency employee has Hoffman listed as one of his clients. Yesavage is soon expected to join the elite list of MLB players handled by Nacario, which includes Garrett Crochet, Trea Turner, and Ben Rice.
Hoffman and Yesavage were crucial pieces in the Blue Jays' pitching staff for the postseason. Unfortunately for them, they were on the receiving end of late home runs from the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series.
Yesavage was hit for a home run in the eighth inning by Max Muncy that cut down the deficit to 4-3. In the ninth, Hoffman attempted to close out the game for Toronto, but was hit for a homer by Miguel Rojas. In extra innings, Will Smith hit a go-ahead homer for Los Angeles, as they held on to the win to deny the Blue Jays the title.
Blue Jays GM refuses to confirm Jeff Hoffman as closer for 2026
During the season-ending news conference on Thursday, Blue Jays General Manager Ross Atkins refused to commit to Jeff Hoffman as their closer for the 2026 season.
“The great thing about Jeff is he’s not married to that,” Atkins said. “I think he would be open to anything that makes us better.”
In 71 appearances in the regular season, Hoffman had 33 saves from 40 save opportunities with a 9-7 record and 4.37 ERA. Heading into Game 7 of the World Series, he had a 0.82 ERA in 11.0 innings in the postseason, but was handed his first blown save in the game.
