MLB legend Gary Sheffield had some honest advice to offer to pop star Justin Bieber during their interaction at the World Series Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The two, seated in the stands at Dodger Stadium, discussed their lives with Bieber, as stated by Sheffield on his appearance on Foul Territory TV on Tuesday, looking for some guidance to turn his life around as he and his wife, Hailey, welcomed the newest member of their family.

"He had a newborn," Sheffield said. "He was talking about that and how he wanted to get his life on the right track and get it the way it needs to be. And I told him, "It's not about your failures in life. It's about your redemption. And I think God has given you another chance through your kids. And so don't ruin it for them."

Sheffield and Bieber were on opposing sides. The former player, who spent four seasons with the Dodgers, rallied for them to secure the home win at Dodger Stadium. While Bieber, a Toronto native, who is often seen cheering for the local sports teams, cheered for the Blue Jays.

The game that went a marathon eighteen innings was eventually won by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Blue Jays, however, took the next two games in LA, before the Dodgers bounced back for two road wins of their own in Toronto to win a classic series in seven games.

Gary Sheffield makes feelings known about the reported Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil discord

The New York Post reporter Mike Puma, in an article last week, claimed that an anonymous New York Mets source had informed him that two veteran players, Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil, didn't see eye to eye.

An already tense relationship between the two got further heated when the two had a coming together during a game against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 20.

On Tuesday's episode of the "Foul Territory TV," Gary Sheffield said it is slightly necessary for senior players like the two to keep each other in check.

"Absolutely, that tells me they're holding each other accountable," Sheffield said. "That's what it means to me. You're going to have teammates that don't get along. That's okay, but you have to have that enforcer to make sure that everybody has the one goal in mind, and that's to win. So, outside of that, who cares?

"We go in the locker room. If somebody sees that I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing, they should have called me out, and vice versa. And I think that makes for a healthy team because that way the manager can't... he can't see everything. The coaches can't see everything. You have to police each other."

McNeil was on the trade block, but that chatter has died down a bit after the Mets traded Brandon Nimmo to the Texas Rangers making space for the former to take up his place in the outfield.
