Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger are the most prized free agents on the market this offseason. Tucker was traded to the Chicago Cubs in December 2024 after winning the 2022 World Series with the Houston Astros. Meanwhile, Bellinger opted out of his contract with the New York Yankees to become a free agent for the second straight offseason.While Tucker appears to be a better player than Bellinger in terms of production, an MLB podcaster shared his thoughts on the comparison while keeping the Yankees' interest for both of them in mind. According to Tyler Vieux, it will be smart for the Yankees to re-sign Bellinger instead of offering Tucker a $450-500 million deal."I think they'll lean on Belli, I don’t know if I could talk myself into Tucker being worth $450–500 million," Vieux said. "He's a year younger than Belli, and Belli had a 5.1 WAR season last year. Tucker’s never had more than a 5.5 -- like, he’s not out of the stratosphere. He’s very good. He’s very good.
