Bryce Harper has been in the news after reports emerged last week that the Phillies infielder was threatened by an MLB executive over his altercation with Rob Manfred.

Phillies president Dave Dombrowski cleared the air over Bryce Harper trade speculations

Earlier last month, Bryce Harper's name was involved in trade rumors after Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski questioned the All-Star infielder's ability to bounce back from a rough season.

Harper reacted to the rumors last month, expressing his disappointment with the lack of communication from the Phillies front office over the trade speculations.

Dombrowski cleared the air on the speculations during an appearence on the "Foul Territory" podcast:

"Now I’ve been reading that, ‘Oh, the Phillies may trade Bryce Harper.’ That couldn’t be further from the truth. We love him. We think he’s a great player. He’s a very important part of our team. I’ve seen him have better years. I look for him to have better years.”

During the general managers meetings in Las Vegas.on Tuesday, Dombrowski addressed the situation with Harper.

"We had a good conversation,” Dombrowski said. “Talked to him quite a while, and really, the conversation’s between Bryce and myself.”

Harper finished with 3.1 WAR in 132 games with an .844 OPS, his lowest mark since 2016. He batted .200/.333/.267 during a disappointing division series loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
