Corbin Carroll is living a baseball dream most young athletes only fantasize about. The Arizona Diamondbacks star played with some of modern baseball's biggest names, including Bobby Witt Jr. and Pete Crow-Armstrong, with the USA 18U National Team in the 2018 COPABE Pan-American Championships. They won the tournament.

Now, months ahead of the opportunity to represent Team USA again on international stages, Carroll shared his feelings about getting to share the big stage again with those he had created memories with before he even reached the majors. Carroll, Witt Jr., and PCA are all part of the 2026 WBC roster of Team USA.

“I got to [play for Team USA] in 2018 with a couple of the guys who are gonna be on the [WBC] team in Bobby Witt Jr. and Pete Crow-Armstrong," Carroll said on Baseball is Dead. "I mean, we remember talking about it then: ‘imagine if we could do this in the big leagues.’ It’s surreal to think about.”

Team USA manager on addition of Corbin Carroll and Pete Crow-Armstrong

Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong and Diamondbacks star Corbin Carroll were added to the star-studded WBC roster in November. Talking about their addition, Team USA manager Mark DeRosa said:

"We need some energy, some youth infused. We're going to have the big captain, the AL MVP, standing in right field. But I think we need some young guns to go get it, to hit some homers."

Carroll had a breakout season in 2025, hitting .259 with 31 home runs, 84 RBIs, 17 triples and 32 stolen bases for the Diamondbacks. Meanwhile, PCA also had a hot year, which saw him hit .247 with 31 home runs, 95 RBIs and 35 stolen bases.

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge is the captain of the team and he is fresh off winning his second straight and third overall AL MVP. He will be joined by the 2025 AL MVP runner-up and Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh.

The WBC pitching staff includes Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, who won the 2024 NL Rookie of the Year and was this year's unanimous Cy Young winner in the National League. In other updates, Boston Red Sox reliever Garrett Whitlock has also joined the roster. He boasts 0.30 ERA in his last 31 appearances.
