Toronto native and Grammy-nominated artist JP Saxe sang the Canadian national anthem "O Canada" ahead of Game 3 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. Meanwhile, American country singer Brad Paisley performed the U.S. national anthem.

Saxe's rendition didn't go down well with fans, who criticized the singer on social media.

"That singer butchered it. How tf did he win a Grammy?" one fan asked.

"Our home on native land? He just screwed his career," another said.

"Based on that awful performance, I'm not convinced that wasn't Mark Zuckerberg," one fan said.
"That man woke up today, sang in the mirror, and said gawd damn ima kill it and then went out and butchered the f*ck out of a beautiful anthem," one fan commented.
"Grammy Nominated? By who? His mom? That performance was so bad even the Canadian flag wanted to lower itself to half-mast," another fan added.

Who will perform national anthems for other World Series games?

In Game 4, Tinashe will perform the U.S. national anthem while Canadian R&B legend Deborah Cox will sing "O Canada." Sofia Carson and Rufus Wainwright in will sing the respective national anthems in Game 5. MLB has yet to announce who will perform the national anthems if Games 6 or 7 are required back in Toronto.

Meanwhile, former Dodgers pitcher Hideo Nomo threw the ceremonial first pitch ahead of Game 3. The former Japanese ace was the NL Rookie of the Year, an All-Star in 1995, and led the league in strikeouts two times.

Legendary pitcher Orel Hershiser will throw the ceremonial first pitch ahead of Game 4 at Dodger Stadiu,. He's a three-time All-Star and led the Dodgers in their 1988 World Series championship, winning the MVP. He possesses an MLB record of pitching 59 consecutive scoreless innings.

The Dodgers enter Game 3 with hopes of taking the lead. They are the defending champions and remain the favorites to win their second straight title against the Blue Jays.
