MMA reporter Ariel Helwani mocked the Los Angeles Dodgers and utility man Kike Hernandez for the way they celebrated their back-to-back World Series titles. The Dodgers defeated the Blue Jays 5-4 in Game 7 to raise the confetti for the second straight year.Helwani criticized the Dodgers for apparently celebrating a controversial play. He also took aim at Hernandez for using a line from MMA star Conor McGregor during the Dodgers' victory parade."I thought the Dodgers looked like jacka**es," Helwani said. "I thought they embarrassed themselves. I mean, did you guys see some of this stuff? There was this one clip where they were kind of mocking the ball-being-lodged moment — like, you’re mocking it. You’re mocking a play that was controversial, in which you didn’t play the ball and called for it to be a ground-rule double, and now you’re laughing."And then the Kiké Hernández thing, did you guys see it? He quoted the famous Conor McGregor UFC 205 interview, ‘I apologize to no one,’ but the setup was just… he fumbled his way through it, if we’re being honest."Fans did not appreciate Helwani's comments and expressed their opinions on social media."Here ya go lil B**ch, wipe your eyes and get therapy 👍🏽" one fan commented."Calling the Dodgers jackasses over making harmless jokes shows how tone deaf you are," another fan posted. "The Blue Jays were huge ass**les to their opponents during the post season, but you get some panties in a bunch over jokes? Casual take.""Funny… what did people think was gonna happen? They’ve been told for years how bad they are for baseball, blaming for the lockout that may happen, called unlikable, painted as the villains. Now they win it all, again, and folks are mad at how they responded? What’d y’all expect Kike to say? I didn’t like it.. but you can only poke the bear so long," one fan added."I’ve never heard of him or the show," one fan commented.Several fans sided with Kike Hernandez for his comments during the parade."Everything Kiké said was in response to Blue Jays fans and their reporters' words btw, y'all are hating the Dodgers cuz they said it back 💀" another fan wrote."I was rooting for the Blue Jays. I disagree with Ariel. Sports banter or bragging is just part of the fun unless you throwing foul language or personal insults. Let the Dodgers have fun. They beat us so let's take it from them next year," one fan reacted.MMA reporter Ariel Helwani takes issue with Kike Hernandez after Dodgers' World Series triumphDuring the Dodgers' victory parade, Kike Hernandez tried to quote Conor McGregor, as he said:“And I want to take this time to apologize to absolutely fking nobody… The triple champ does what the f** he wants. C**ktober out. Deuces.”Ariel Helwani said he would have understood if Yoshinobu Yamamoto or Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had done this since they performed really well in the World Series. He felt Hernandez didn't make a major contribution to his team's success."Dodgers fans are so mad at me," Helwani posted on X. "Oh no what will I do. Yamamoto can talk all the shit he wants, just like Vlad could have and did. Stars who delivered are allowed. I had an issue with the bit players who got an A on the project - aka did nothing and played like shite - talking smack."And for the national voice of baseball - who, yes, I know is the Dodgers PBP guy - to be the MC of the parade is an awful look. Mike Breen would never."Ariel Helwani @arielhelwaniLINKDodgers fans are so mad at me. Oh no what will I do. Yamamoto can talk all the shit he wants, just like Vlad could have and did.
