Gerrit Cole and wife Amy celebrate anniversary with hands-on pottery date before romantic dinner

New York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole is recovering from Tommy John surgery and is expected to return at the start of next season. In the meantime, he's using the offseason to learn new skills and spend quality time with his wife, Amy.

On Wednesday, Amy posted a small clip of hands-on pottery, where the right-hander can be seen producing different types of handicrafts. This was followed by a special dinner date at The Eighty Six, an intimate West Village steakhouse in New York City.

In the picture, Amy is holding a wine glass containing a dark, possibly red wine. The glass is held over a table with several dessert-like items. Cole's hand is visible, holding a spoon with a dollop of ice cream. There is also a metallic bowl, containing a dark dessert and mousse with toppings.

Gerrit Cole and Amy's romantic story started when they were at UCLA. Cole pitched for the Bruins’ baseball team while Amy played softball at UCLA. The couple got married in 2016 and are now parents to two sons, Caden, born on June 30, 2020, and Everett, born on January 2, 2023.

In September, the Coles turned heads at the LegaCCy Gala as Amy shared glimpses and the couple's appearance at the charity event. The Yankees pitcher was in a classic black tuxedo paired with white sneakers. Meanwhile, Amy is in a sleek black halter-neck gown.

Amy captioned her post:

"Spent G’s 35th gala-vanting with our Yankee family 🎉 Honored to celebrate @pitcchinfdn’s work empowering youth at the LegaCCy Gala and to receive the LegaCCy Award."

Cole and Amy also praised fellow Yankees ace Carlos Rodon, his wife Ashley, and their Carlos Rodon Foundation, which helps aspiring parents financially for IVF treatments. Amy added:

"We closed the night at the @rodonfoundation’s Willow Gala, supporting families on their path to parenthood and celebrating @rodonfoundation’s commitment to helping others build their families. So proud of my friends and the difference they’re making!"

Their own foundation, named the Gerrit and Amy Cole Foundation, is focused on children’s education, hunger relief and pediatric cancer research.
