Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the founder of VG27 Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting children and families in need. Based in Toronto, the foundation operates in Canada, the U.S. and the Dominican Republic.Guerrero's foundation is partnering with La Gente del Barrio Foundation and other charitable organizations in Miami on Dec. 6. The event will be held at loanDepot Park, featuring MLB stars, other athletes and entertainers for a home run derby and celebrity softball game. Full proceeds will go to charity.VG27 Foundation, through an Instagram post on Tuesday, announced that Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Jose Ramirez will be in Miami for the event. The trio of superstars joins several others who announced their presence earlier. The competition will start at 4 p.m., following the softball game, which begins at 1 p.m.The other MLB athletes attending the event are Miguel Rojas, Gleyber Torres, Anthony Santander, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Julio Rodriguez, Santiago Espinal and Ezequiel Tovar. Yankees legend Jorge Posada and his wife, Laura, will also attend.Non-MLB celebs at Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s charity eventThough Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s foundation is headlining the charity event in Miami, Hector Lebron's La Gente del Barrio Foundation is producing it. Lebron is the Blue Jays' Spanish interpreter. He is known for creating the Jays' "home run jacket" tradition.According to Lebron, the event will be a celebration of athletes, artists and the Latin American people. While the MLB players will take care of the sports part, a long list of celebrities from showbiz will be in charge of the entertainment part.Enrique Santos, Gloria Ordaz, and Orlanod Leon are the hosts for the event. A week ago, the Blue Jays star's foundation announced that actress Adriana Catano, model Agueda Lopez, celebrity chef Yisus and Latin Grammy-winning duo Gente De Zona will attend.On Tuesday, the foundation announced many more big names. Small screen celebs Tony Dandrades, Rashel Diaz, Danella Urbay, Aly Sanchez, Jessica Rodriguez, Carlos Radyan and Robert Hernandez.Uruguayan F1 Academy driver Maite Caceres, rap icon Kodak Black, WBO middleweight champion boxer Xander Zayas, DJ Dimelo Flow, celebrity chef Adrienne and DJ Africa will also attend the event.
