Before he signed a record-breaking deal to join the New York Mets, Juan Soto was a fan favorite in the Bronx. Soto spent the 2024 season playing for the Yankees, helping them win the AL East and make it to the World Series for the first time since 2009.

In the process, Juan Soto formed a great friendship with Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, as the two superstars formed arguably the most devastating one-two punch in all of baseball. Despite now playing for rival teams, the pair still remain on good terms, as is evident by the comment Juan Soto left on one of Aaron Judge's most recent Instagram posts.

After winning his third AL MVP award, Aaron Judge took to Instagram on Monday, reiterating his desire to continue striving for his ultimate goal of winning a championship. Reacting to the post, Soto left a comment saluting his former captain.

Even though Juan Soto lived up to his reputation, the Mets could not avoid disaster in 2025

Having signed a 15-year, $765 million deal to join the New York Mets in December 2024, expectations of Juan Soto sky-high before he had even put on the Mets uniform for the first time.

In his initial days in Queens, the Dominican struggled. However, he soon picked up the pace, going on to have a superb season, finishing with a .263 batting average, 43 home runs and 105 RBIs.

Unfortunately, the trajectory of the Mets' season went in pretty much the opposite direction. Having led the NL East for much of the first half, the Mets ended up finishing second best by quite some distance, as the Phillies won the division for the second consecutive year.

To make matters worse, a catastrophic collapse late in the regular season culminated in the Mets missing the playoffs altogether.
