The New York Yankees' playoff exit at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays after a Game 4 loss at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday turned ugly.

Yankees fans targeted Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s family in the stands, reportedly throwing plastic bottles at them.

Fans reacted to the controversial incident at the ballpark on Wednesday.

"@VladGuerrero27 any thoughts on this ? Despicable behavior by Yankee fans."

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s cousin, Gabriel Guerrero, a former Cincinnati Reds outfielder, was among the family members targeted by the Yankees fans.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was instrumental in leading the Blue Jays over their AL East division rivals and the All-Star infielder poked fun at the Yankees after eliminating them from postseason.

During his interview with the MLB on Fox crew from the Blue Jays locker room, Guerrero joined Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz in mocking the Yankees. Ortiz and Guerrero shouted repeatedly:

"DAAAAAA YANKEES LOSE!"

The Blue Jays are headed to the championship series for the first time since 2016, and the All-Star first baseman wants to go all the way this year after beating the Yankees.

"It means a lot. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, so it feels good winning with them,” Guerrero Jr. said. “I’ve been playing with them since 2016, and to me we’ve got to continue, believe in each other and try to win it all.”

The Blue Jays will be up against the winner of the Detroit Tigers-Seattle Mariners division series in the ALCS.
