Davis Schneider's sister, Madeline, poked fun at Blake Snell in a unique way. The Los Angeles Dodgers ace had garnered a negative reception from fans for his postgame interview after World Series Game 3.
Snell gave up two home runs in the first inning of the game, first to Schneider and then to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The two-time Cy Young Award-winner was taken out of the game after 6.2 innings. He gave up five earned runs on five hits and walked four, while striking out seven Blue Jays sluggers.
In the postgame interview, a reporter asked Snell how the Blue Jays slugger got to him. The Dodgers ace didn't agree with the reporter's assessment, even though he admitted the pitch he threw to Guerrero Jr. was a bad one.
"It's just unlucky," Snell said [Timestamp 0:07]. "I'm not one to make excuses or anything close to that. It's just pretty unlucky. Only so much you can do, to where you know, that's unlucky."
Sportsnet LA shared the clip of the interview on their X channel, which Schneider's sister reposted on Thursday.
"Ron Howard voice from Arrested Development: "He was, in fact, making excuses," Madeline wrote.
Ron Howard is a legendary filmmaker, having won multiple Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. "A Beautiful Mind," "Rush," and "Apollo 13" are among his greatest works.
Howard also served as the omniscient narrator of "Arrested Development," a popular satirical sitcom that ran for five seasons. The quote referenced by Schneider's sister is a recurring line that Howards uses in the sitcom.
Davis Schneider's sister, Madeline, claps back at a fan
Davis Schneider's leadoff homer of Blake Snell in the first pitch of World Series Game 6 set the tone for the Blue Jays' victory. Although Schneider garnered praise for the homer, his inclusion as the leadoff hitter had fumed many fans.
"Davis Schneider leadoff is a f**king choice LMAO," A fan posted on X.
Shortly after the post, Schneider hit a homer, and his sister immediately re-shared the post. From the timing of the post, it seems like Madeline was eager to clap back.
"The right one I guess?" Madeline replied.
Madeline is the oldest child in the Schneider household. She currently works as a corporate accountant in New York. Schneider also has another sister, Olivia. The Blue Jays star's only brother, Steven, passed away in 2020.
