“Come to Blue Jays, I can help babysit” - Jays' OF Myles Straw slips into recruiting mode after Kyle Tucker and wife Samantha share pregnancy news

For the second offseason in a row, Kyle Tucker will be making important headlines. After his blockbuster trade from the Houston Astros to the Chicago Cubs last year, Tucker is one of the hottest free agents in the 2025-26 class.

Many teams are out to recruit Tucker; few have been less subtle about it. Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Myles Straw took a hilarious attempt at asking Tucker to join the Canadian franchise.

Kyle Tucker and his wife, Samantha, announced on Instagram in an adorable fashion that they were expecting a newborn. The couple posted a picture of them holding a kid's jersey with the words "Little All-Star" etched on it.

Straw took the opportunity and asked to be employed as their sitter if the 29-year-old and his family were to join the Blue Jays.

"Let's go!!! Now come to the Blue Jays, I can help babysit," Straw wrote.

Kyle Tucker has been one of the most impressive young outfielders this decade. In each of his last five seasons, he has had a bWAR ranging from 4.6 to 5.3, with four of them ending in All-Star selections. He hit .266 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs in 2025, with a second half marred by injury.

MLB insider Jon Heyman stated on a recent edition of the Bleacher Report live stream that the Toronto Blue Jays are interested in signing Tucker. He named them as the final two contenders, but just like the 2025 MLB season, their contenders are going to be the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"The teams I have written down, the two World Series teams, the Jays and the Dodgers," Heyman said. "I also have the Phillies and the Red Sox with maybe less of a chance, but I do see the World Series teams as teams that will spend big.

"The Dodgers have money coming off the books. Jays are going to be active and aggressive. Those are my two top teams potentially for Tucker."

The Blue Jays have lost out on Roki Sasaki and Shohei Ohtani to the Dodgers in the past. That Japanese pairing came back to haunt them in the World Series this year. They would hope to outbid their competitors this time around.
