According to analyst Lindsay Crosby, two-time All-Star Byron Buxton may be on his way to Truist Park this winter, reportedly willing to waive his no-trade clause to return to his home state.

Crosby spoke about the potential success Buxton could enjoy in Atlanta, on Wednesday's episode of "Braves Today."

"Here's the thing to understand about Byron Buxton. When Byron Buxton is healthy, he is one of the best players in baseball," Crosby said (Timestamp: 7:08). "His sprint speed is still elite despite him playing last year aged 31. His defense is well above average. He was a Silver Slugger, he was an All-Star this year, hit .264 with an .878 OPS, 35 home runs, 24 stolen bases."

"You get him in a lineup with protection from Ronald Acuna Jr. and Matt Olson, with (first base coach) Antoine Richardson in his ear and a full season of health, you could see Byron Buxton being a 40-40 guy. The issue is that full season of health. He had 140 games in 2017, 102 games in 2024 and 126 games last year, the only three seasons in his eleven-year career that he has played over 100 games."

Byron Buxton enjoyed a standout season in 2025, earning his second All-Star selection and first Silver Slugger award.

The Minnesota Twins, however, did not enjoy the best of seasons. Finishing fourth in the AL Central with a 70-92 record, the Twins missed out on the postseason for the second consecutive season.

Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Olson and the Atlanta Braves will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2025 season

Both Ronald Acuna Jr. and Matt Olson enjoyed strong individual seasons in 2025, earning an All-Star selection each.

However, as a team, the Atlanta Braves endured a disappointing campaign. Struggling for consistency all year, the four-time World Series champions finished fourth in the NL East with a 76-86 record, failing to qualify for the playoffs as a result.

Heading into 2026, fans will be hoping to see the Atlanta Braves return to their best.
