The Toronto Blue Jays are among the teams in the running for free agent Kyle Tucker, whom many believe will sign a contract worth around $400 million. If the Blue Jays sign Tucker, his contract would likely be the second-best, behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s 14-year, $500 million deal.

Both Tucker and Guerrero are elite offensive threats. However, they differ in their pregame preparation, which Blue Jays insider Keegan Matheson explained on Monday's episode of "Toronto Sports Rush."

"What I know about Tucker from speaking to other writers who have covered him and speaking to people around the league is that he's a very meticulous guy with how he goes about his spring training work and his pregame work," Matheson said (Timestamp: 5:00).

"He's a guy who likes to hit in the cages and go through a really regimented routine. Whereas someone like Vladdy, for example, he wants to go out onto the field, dance, let it rip, hit a few home runs. Different guys, different things, " he added.

Kyle Tucker recently visited the Blue Jays' Spring Training complex in Tampa, Florida. Matheson acknowledged that Tucker's visit is a positive sign for the Jays, but pointed out that Shohei Ohtani's visit during his free agency was more meaningful.

Tucker played last season for the Chicago Cubs. Although injuries hampered his performance in the latter part of the season, the 28-year-old outfielder earned an All-Star selection and Silver Slugger Award.

Blue Jays insider claims Kyle Tucker's free agency affects Bo Bichette

Along with Kyle Tucker, infielder Bo Bichette is another free agent linked to the Blue Jays. Blue Jays insider Ben Nicholson-Smith believes Tucker's free agency decision will directly affect Bichette. He shared his thoughts on Wednesday's episode of "JD Bunkis podcast."

"I'm not under the impression that anything is close on (Kyle) Tucker," Nicholson-Smith said (Timestamp: 1:31:13). "By extension, that might mean that Bo has to wait as well, because a lot of the teams that are going to be in on Tucker are probably going to be in on Bo. So, I could see it unfolding that way where we have to be a little bit more patient."

Bo Bichette has played only for the Blue Jays. After debuting in 2019, Bichette has earned two All-Star selections. Moreover, he is a two-time hit leader in the American League.

Notably, Bichette is a close friend of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. They have known each other even before they became teammates on the Blue Jays. Both have expressed their desire to play together.
