Shane Bieber and his wife, Kara Bieber, have had a topsy-turvy year. The couple welcomed a new member into their lives. Later in July, Bieber, who was in the middle of a rehab process due to his Tommy John surgery, was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays from the Cleveland Guardians.
Bieber became an integral part of the Blue Jays' setup during the postseason; however, Bieber earned the loss for the team in Game 7 of the World Series.
In an Instagram Q&A with her fans, Kara Bieber opened up about her son Kav's birth. To the question of whether she had a natural birth or not, she reflected on the wonderful yet mysterious experience of giving birth to her firstborn.
"Yes! After 36 hours of laboring at home (had back labor)," Bieber wrote. "I delivered him at the hospital as planned - but everything in between was beautifully brutal. It's the most mysterious and powerful experience a woman can go through. You can have a plan, but ultimately your body and baby will choose their own way."

The Biebers welcomed Kav into their lives on March 14th, exactly five minutes after midnight. The couple had been together since their time at the University College of Santa Barbara. They got engaged in July 2021 before tying the knot in January 2023.
While pretty early into her motherhood, Kara is starting to learn Kav's many quirks. She was asked about how the little guy has handled all the postseason travel.
"He is such a little trooper," she said. "So proud of him. But don't get me wrong, he will also, act like a baby would on a 5-hour flight in the middle of the night lol"

Kara Bieber flaunts husband Shane Bieber's biggest accomplishment
It had been a tough two years for Shane Bieber, who found himself out of action for most of it, until his return in August of this year. He was restricted to 21 starts in 2023 due to elbow issues. After just 2 starts last season, he needed to have Tommy John surgery. But so far, he has made a triumphant return.
For the former Cy Young winner's partner, that has been the biggest achievement of his eight-year career.
"He's accomplished a lot in his career, but coming back from TJ and giving everything he had to a new team through the most intense playoff run and World Series," she replied. "His grit, work ethic, and mental toughness are unmatched."

Bieber shocked the baseball world when he chose to take the $16 million player option attached to the contract that he had signed with the Guardians to stay in Toronto for next season. He will be back for a better full-season performance in 2026.
