The Los Angeles Dodgers won their second straight World Series in 2025, and they are easily one of the favorites to three-peat in 2026. This offseason offers them another opportunity to bolster their roster by addressing key weaknesses.
There are several free agents on the market that the Dodgers could add. The trade market is also another way to bolster, but top players are not expected to be dealt this early in the offseason.
3 players that can bolster Dodgers' star-studded lineup
1) Robert Suarez
Robert Suarez opted for free agency, ending his stay with the San Diego Padres after a fine season that saw him record 40 saves in 2025. On top of that, he posted a 2.97 ERA and 0.97 WHIP.
If there was one department where the Dodgers possibly lacked was their bullpen. They need a strong reliever who can close games because it's not like Roki Sasaki will stay as a closer in 2026.
2) Kyle Tucker
Former Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker is looking for a contract in the vicinity of $400 million. There are only a handful of teams that can spend such kind of money, and the Dodgers are one of them.
The outfield department of the Dodgers could really use an upgrade. With Mookie Betts shifting to shortstop full-time, Teoscar Hernandez is the only All-Star surrounded by less-established players. If the Dodgers acquire Tucker, they will become the firm favorites to win the World Series once again.
3) Jose Caballero
The Dodgers are looking for a utility option with Miguel Rojas and Kike Hernandez becoming free agents. Well, they can always re-sign them, but if they are looking for a younger option, one candidate that comes out on top is Jose Caballero.
Caballero, who is currently signed with the New York Yankees, offers contact hitting on top of playing multiple positions and provides speed, defense, and on-base ability.
Other names that the Dodgers could go after are former MVP Cody Bellinger and maybe look to trade for Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers.
