The New York Mets didn't have a great season as they barely missed making the postseason. Most of their production came only from the top and their front office has some tough decisions to make this offseason.
The team will also be keeping an eye on the prospects who could make their debut for the Mets in the 2026 season. We have picked the three best who could make a difference if given a chance.
1) Randy Guzman
The 20-year-old earned a midseason promotion to St. Lucie Mets from FCL Mets on July 25. In 2025, he hit a .302/.375/.524 line with 10 home runs and 22 doubles over 75 games.
Moreover, according to Baseball America, his exit velocity was in the 90th-percentile exit velocity of 108 mph among Mets minor leaguers this year.
The Mets could really use his 6'4", 215 lb frame for his size and bat power. But first, he'll need to put strong numbers in spring training and subsequent minor league games before being seen as a roster-worthy asset on an MLB club.
2) Yonatan Henriquez
Henriquez is a versatile Dominican Republic player who can play multiple positions on the diamond, including third base, shortstop, center field, right field and more.
This year, he played between Single-A St. Lucie Mets and High-A Brooklyn Cyclones. Overall, he averaged a .263 batting average.
His versatile and utility ability make him a good selling point for the Mets to think about promoting him at some point in 2026.
3) Yohairo Cuevas
Cuevas went undrafted in 2021 but shone for the St. Lucie Mets. this year. He hit around .273 and carries a strong on-base profile.
While he enjoyed early success at the complex league and Low-A levels before his performance raised eyebrows after a bit of regression. The Mets will hope for him to channel his inner self from some years back.
Apart from the above-mentioned star prospects, left-hander Daviel Hurtado is also one option whom the Mets can think about before handing out debuts.
