Wardlow has been out of action due to an injury. New potential details have come to light regarding his AEW return.Wardlow has been one of the most physically impressive wrestlers to compete in AEW. Sadly, his career has been plagued by injuries that have prevented him from unleashing his full potential. He first suffered an injury during his match against Samoa Joe on the March 13 episode of Dynamite. After spending over a year on the shelf, he made his return at Forbidden Door 2025 and attacked Swerve Strickland. He also aligned himself with The Don Callis Family. Unfortunately, Mr. Mayhem suffered another injury during his return and was ruled out of action for the foreseeable future.During a recent edition of Fightful Select's Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the AEW star's return date. Sapp replied that Mr. Mayhem is likely to be out of action for the rest of the year. He also reported that people within the Tony Khan-led company were "bummed out" because the injury took place after he missed so much time.Jim Cornette believes WWE won't hire Wardlow after recent injuryWardlow has proven himself to be a dominant force in the ring ever since his arrival in AEW. However, he has been injury-prone, which doesn't bode well for him, especially if he spends his peak years on the sidelines. On his Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette said that Mr. Mayhem will miss a considerable amount of time due to his injury, which means that WWE won't want to sign him due to the age factor."He's practically forgotten about. He comes back and hurts himself again, and now, by the time he gets back in the ring, he's going to be almost 40, even closer. They're not going to take him now over there in NXT, if he got the itch to go. So, I think the ship has sailed."It will be interesting to see when Wardlow will make his return from injury.
